Comet Mc Naught rising with the sun before dawn on Jan 10th 2007. This comet was close to mag -2.0 (brighter than Hale - Bopp) making it the brightest comet for decades. The coma and tail were easy to see with the naked eye and through binoculars the view was breathtaking with a white 1 degree long dust tail pointing to the NE with long, dark 'shadow of the nucleus' feature against the dust tail seemingly dividing the tail in two!
