Located on the main Glenshane Road outside Maghera on June 7th 2011 facing west towards an approaching thunderstorm with the leading edge visible as a gust front/outflow boundary with long precip core of rain and hail visible over the mountains. The outflow rapidly formed a dry cell in front of the gust front, visible above the trees on the left, which began rotating rapidly in plain view then dropped a great funnel cloud over the fields which came close to a touch down. Nice storm with good thunder and c-g lightning which would later strike fairly close over the car when we gave chase, read the report for more information. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email. |
