On Glenshane Pass chasing during a severe thunderstorm outbreak with BBC Newsline Weather presenter Jackie McCann while doing a recorded storm chasing interview for radio. Two cells in view here, the far right storm is now outflow dominant and decaying however the lead storm on the left which will soon cross the Glenshane Road was highly active and without question a severe cell, Jackie and I drove off from this position and headed straight down this road and intercepted the storm, the core punch was spectacular with the heaviest barrage of hail stones we have ever heard, the metallic clank of the stones smacking off the metal roof, bonnet, and window was almost deafening and slightly sore in our ears, we had to shout loud in order to hear each other speak, the rain and was also so bad that the roads became flooded and waterlogged in seconds forcing us to drive very slowly while thunder boomed overhead and pink flashes lit the sky, an unforgettable experience and a great day's chasing with Jackie, this was the storm that did it all with rounded gust front on view , read the report for more information. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email.
