Beautiful moonlit convection over the Atlantic Ocean along the Co. Antrim coast captured from Ballintoy Harbour on October 3rd 2012. I had met a family from England who had been staying the night in a camper van, they spotted me and came out for a chat curious to what I was doing. I explained I was hunting for moonbows, they had never head of the phenomena before so I got really into the conversation and noted that if we were patient for a shower then we might get to see one. This beautiful formation of towers moved towards shore which dropped a nice curtain of precip then produced a moonbow on cue, talk about perfect timing, the family got to see a moonbow for the first time in their lives, a nice gift from N. Ireland. The clouds looked wonderful over the ocean with beach and seaweed in the foreground and stars aloft, read the full image report from this night here. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email. |
