Beautiful moonlit convective cell captured from Ballintoy Harbour on the Co. Antrim coast on October 3rd 2012. This cell seemed to erupt into life with beautiful white billowing tops in great contrast against the deep blue moonlit sky, stars above, and cottage below. The cell had come in from the NW Atlantic on an unstable cold air mass, it then passed over Donegal then moved towards land. The underside of the base along with the precip core was lit orange from the lights of Portballintrae below. An absolutely beautiful scene to experience, read the full image report from this night here. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email. |
