10mm wide angle capture showing an approaching line of convection which had moved in from the W over Donegal and which was now nearing the coastline here at Downhill beach on New Year's Eve 2012. Sleet and hail stones were falling from under this line, at the front a shower anvil can be seen and at the rear a more interesting area of development was forming with solid rapidly growing updraught towers, the convection was lit by the moon and looked pretty with the stars of Cygnus and Draco aloft, read the full image report from this night here. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email. |
