Moonlit magic on a perfect flat beach at Ballintoy Harbour on the Co. Antrim coast on December 4th 2011 during a night time storm chase. There was a risk of convective showers of rain, hail and isolated thunderstorms accompanied by squalls, gales, and even a chance of thundersnow. It felt like standing on an alien world with this beach and the approaching cumulus clouds lit into an unearthly eerie white colour by the moon, pretty amazing to experience this period of stunning transient light between dark storm clouds and hail stones. The tide would sneak in very quick catching me off guard and soaking my boots and jeans. The stars of Delphinus, Hercules, and Lyra with bright star Vega can be seen above, read the full image report from this night here. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email.
