On a Winter night time storm chase at the Co. Antrim coast on December 4th 2011 during the post frontal air mass of a deep Atlantic storm with very cold air moving in from the NW with gales, squalls, snow, hail and ocean thunderstorms forecast, I was chasing this night with my girlfriend Roisin, we pulled over into this lay by outside Portrush, this was looking NE at a nice line of moonlit convection with the constellation of Auriga visible above, the cumulus line was moving from ocean to land from the NW and would eventually develop into heavy snow showers along the high ground over the E side of Antrim. Check out that distant outcrop of cliffs to the L of the road sign, we where going even further than that.
