Funnel cloud outbreak in the Maghera area on July 6th 2011, this was the fourth funnel I witnessed within less than an hour from three different cells, this was funnel number four which formed at the rear of a huge multicell thunderstorm which suddenly erupted during the late afternoon, I recall the huge anvil spreading far overhead covering an enormous area, this funnel lasted for quite some time and looked a beautiful white colour has it caught the hazy sunlight, the funnel looked very substantial, solid, and could be seen spinning with great speed through the 100-400mm lens which was what I used to take this image, this was from the shoulder on Glenshane Road near the filling station, the funnel was probably over or near Maghera at this time, read the report for more information. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email.
