I recall this day so well and learned valuable lessons about patience. On July 6th 2011 I spent the day chasing to the coast thinking that's where all the action would be and despite getting a few heavy showers the sky was grey, flat, and non convective. As we drove home while near the coast I saw a cell which had just gone up in the clearing sky and afternoon sun a long distance away with nice white boiling towers, I joked that was probably over Maghera where I live however as we got close to home I was shocked to be absolutely correct, that cell had grown and was over the town.
