C/2002 C1 Ikeya - Zhang at 20. 19 LT on April 1st 2002 as seen through the 8" F/6.3 S. Cass. The comet had an active jet on one side and many bright tail streamers. This was the best comet I have seen since Hale - Bopp and it was a beauitful sight with the naked eye in the western evening sky passing through Andromeda and close to M31. I came within 20 degrees of discovering this new comet myself while completing an evening search with the same instrument. |
